micro-housingOne city in the US is looking to start construction of a community of tiny houses in an effort to offer housing to low-income earners.

The plan is to get homeless people off the streets of Portland by providing clean and cheap places built on publicly owned land to live in.

The idea is to build 25 houses on each property, with extra buildings for laundries and administrative offices.

Each house would be just under 18 square metres and would cost between $250 and $350 to rent each month…
